Lindsey Mackley

My career as a dental hygienist began in 2009. I have had many different career opportunities and have worked with hundreds of patients. I am thankful for each experience and every patient because they have led me to the place I am today. I was introduced to the fascinating field of Orofacial Myology through a continuing education course and I couldn’t help but jump right in!

I completed training with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) and MyoMentors with Sarah K. Hornsby. As I was going through Myofunctional Therapy training, I felt like pieces of a puzzle were coming together and I could understand the root causes of the ailments that have troubled many of the patients, young and old, that I have worked with over the years. I have also been led to awareness of my own orofacial myofunctional disorders. I have been through myofunctional therapy and have had a tongue-tie release, and I finally have relief from chronic headaches, neck pain and poor sleep quality that I have dealt with for a long time.
